Ford 8000 parts are a hard find

Ford 8000 parts are really hard to find. New holland always
tells me it's been discontinued when I'm looking for some
things. A&I products have a few things. But I'm really about
lost on finding parts. Been living salvage for the most part.
Was looking for hyd. Pump strainer. No longer available.
Where else can I look? Hyd. Pumps is the most popular thing
for the tractor they are everywhere and the rest of the tractor is
being phased out. We have two 8000's that were bought new
in 69 & 70 would be nice to keep them around. IH and JD
didn't quit building stuff for there tractors from this time period.
There still in use or being restored, it's just a damn shame.

parts used on multi tractor types are around longer and even aftermarket. Unique parts for small run models are used up pretty quick and then unobtainium. Dealers usually keep parts around for a minimum of 5 years after last sale. Some do 10 years of parts after last sell. No one guarantees longer and it stock till parts are used up..

Good luck finding a pump strainer. Most of those were tossed with the filter upgrade that came out with the 8600 series. So, in other words, that part has been obsolete for over 40 years. I think it odd that you would expect a manufacturer to sell replacement parts indefinitely.

Rick B is correct in that IH and JD have many obsolete parts as well, although JD will surprise you in many cases with what they still can get.

I have a 9000 and have not had any problem finding parts. I rarely go to the dealer though. Whatever you need is almost always on eBay. And as Bern said you don't need that strainer.

they found parts for Father in Laws 9000 in England. After it was running it went to a consignment auction.
