Cam Follower Pin - About to start....

About to order the kit from Mr. Zane Sherman with the adjustment instructions and cam follower pin for my 64 4000 hydraulics. Researched all the great details here, and really think I can do it...
While I have the cover off, I would like to replace the "rings" on the hydraulic cyl., so the lift will stop leaking down with tractor off.
Besides the FO-20 manual, gasket, and rings, is there anything else I need for parts or reference? Also, is there anything else I should replace while in there?

All guidance is appreciated!

Thanks!

epends on condition of cylinder wall. Seems that unloader valve is typically a problem, so if I were going in there, I would change that ring unless it is metal.

Your 64 4000 will have a lift piston with a single O-Ring and leather back-up washer. It will not have steel rings.

That said, be certain to replace the O-ring and back-up washer while the lift cover is off.

The IT manual has all the information in very plain English to make the adjustments The follower pin is just a few bucks, you can get a cover kit with the needed o rings and gaskets for 10 bucks or so. If you take your time you should have no problems. What do you get in this kit?

I would replace the cam follower pin while you have it opened up as well. Check the cam that the pin rides on too. If it is worn down it should be built back up and ground smooth to match the original profile.
