2 wire alternator issue

The #1 wire goes back to the output side of the ignition switch. This must have an isolating device in the line, usually either a diode or and indicator light. If this device is not present the alternator will continue to supply the ignition circuit when the switch is turned off and engine will continue to run.

Just getting back to this post - sorry it took me so long. Installing an indicator light solved the problem Thanks for the help.
 
A one way diode will do the same purpose. I make them fomr a rectifier bridge out of a 10si Delco alt.
 
Hope you have the #2 wire hooked up to the big charge stud or you will have a problem with over charging.
 
#2 wire from the plug goes to the stud that has the wire that goes to the charge side of things. You can also ruin it right to the battery but why do that when hooking to the charge stud does the same thing
