71 Ford 2000 hydraulic pressure line issue

Been having a leak on the pressure line coming out of the pump. Tightened it but could not completely stop the leak ( a weeping leak, not bad). Yesterday, the line blew out of the pump completely. This is the 1/2 in line with the compression nut.

The line itself has a lot of abrasion on it. Prob the reason it was leaking. Looking at the parts listing at CHN, it shows the tube (DONNH876A) and the Nut (C7NNH856C) and still available. Says the seal is no longer serviced.

So, can the tube be repaired so that it can hold the pressure? Some sort of dope or sealant on the abrasion to fill in the grooves, or will I be better off in replacing the whole tube?

Looks like the same fittings on both ends, right?

Line is $99 so not that bad of a price...

Any other ideas are welcome...

They show 2 tubes in the parts list, One is DONNH867A the other is DONNH867D. First tube is $99.00, second subs to 84272024 and is $61.00. The only difference is that first says -

Pressure, W/10 Speed Transmission, 2000, 3000, 4100, except 3550 Start year 01-Oct-69.

Second one says -

Pressure, L/10 Speed Transmission, ....same...

What does the W/ vs. L/ mean. I have the 8 speed transmission with 2 reverse. Assume that is the 10 speed trans? In the transmission section they make no mention of a 10 speed transmission. Why so confusing???

W/ and L/ mean "with" and "less". The 10 speed transmission was more commonly called the Select-O-Speed transmission which was hydraulically controlled and had 10 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds. So if you have the 8 speed manual transmission, you want the part number that is listed as "L/10 Speed Transmission".
 
The nut comes as a assembly. If possible cut 1/4 inch off tube and new nut should fix problem. Tube could have been cut off before cause I have done several over the years and others know this trick.
