So in my quest for another tractor, I've come across a 3000, gas, manual trans, assuming the 8speed. Municipal tractor, 3 pt lift arms, and associated parts for are same gone, but I believe the pins are there on the rear housing and the rockshaft is present, so I assume it had a complete 3 pt hitch, I would just have to come up with the 2 lift arms, and the control arm on the left side to the rock shaft, I have a level box for a thousand series on the shelf. Would 00/01 lift arms work on a 3000 ? PTO shaft is missing, but it has a lever, rear does have a the threaded cover on it. Nice tin actually too. Its possible to be a fixer upper, I could swap tires from my 850, power steering is what I am after here really.
I'm trying to figure out if this one has live pto/ 2 stage clutch, that I can install a pto shaft as is, slide it in.
What was the bare bones non live pto, 3000 model and how could I tell if a 3000 would accept a pto, or has the 2 stage clutch/live pto owner does not know that much about it etc. Not sure if there is a tag under the hood, could post back if I look at it.
This one would solve my needs for a tractor in the interim, and not cost me nearly what I am really after. This one is a non runner, the price reflects that, not seized, could just be the fuel system. I don't know if it has a zillion hours on it or not, whats a 3 cylinder gas overhaul cost roughly if anyone knows? Live pto would be nice, but I could easily deal with one without it, but do need a pto for sure.
We have a 3600 diesel, familiar with that one for the most part, but how is fuel consumption on a 3 cylinder gas ? It probably don't matter with my useage, but I've never owned a 3 cyl gas model.
