Ford Spec. M-4664 grease

thank you for the link. yes, I did google it several times over the last two weeks with no success. obviously, I am putting in the wrong word string. thanks again.
 
Not off hand.... what application is it used in? For most things ag today I'd simply use a good quality EP-2 Lithium base.

it is for the hydraulic linkage in the upper part of the hydraulic cover for a 1959 ford. the manual indicates the use of Ford M-4664 grease. the grease that came out, or off, the linkage was very thick. all the parts stores around here know nothing about M-4664 and have only tube or can grease; all with about the same consistency. the grease I removed was dirty and had the consistency of a smooth paste. I am afraid if a thinner grease is applied, it will soon fall into the sump and be of no value.
 
As I said before, I don't know what the exact spec means for that grease... but based on that particular application I'd use either a pin and bushing grease which would be an EP2 rating with a high cling factor... or just use a wheel bearing grease. I don't think it will really make much difference which one you use.
