Does the 860 not use a sediment bowl? The one on ours has some sort of shut off valve. Im also looking for a set of fenders and a left side dog leg..where can I find good used parts? Im not seeing much on ebay for used parts.

The 600/800 series should have a shut off valve on the bottom of the gas tank and a sediment bowl attached to the carburetor by a banjo bolt.

Just as Kurt says banjo bolt and shut off under the tank. Sediment bowl sits right on the carb

I think this site sells the sediment bowl assembly and the banjo bolt. If not I know the nnalert catalog lists them

I didn't see it. So is there a special fuel line used? This on just had a line going from shut off down to the carb. I'll have to get a picture of the carb. It looks like in other pictures ive looked at the fuel bowl connects directly to the carb?

Here's how it is now...

Yes there is a correct fuel line for these tractors. Has steel then rubber then back to steel. The sediment bowl assembly by way of the banjo bolt bolts right to the carb and the line hooks up the the part the banjo bolt goes into. If you need me to I could take a picture of the carb on my 841

Like Old said, the OEM fuel line would be steel coming out of the sediment bowl and would go up between the manifold and block, it had a rubber section on it, and then another metal end that connects to the gas tank.

The way that one is set up with that in line filter close to the manifold the guy has a fire waiting to happen. Plus the in line filters I have found to cause many more problem then ever worth

Great thanks! On the line there is a
rubber hose section on ours. I know fuel
filters are a no no..so looks like it all
I'll need is the bowl. Thanks guys!

I'll post a picture of my fuel line when I get home, Its different than what is shown in your picture.

They weren't too bad, I got mine from the CNH dealer 7 or so years ago, and they were around $58 if I remember right.

I got a new sediment bowl from YT(this site) about a month ago for my tractor, and it seems good, but it doesn't come with the banjo bolt or small gaskets for the bolt.

You need the bowl assembly and the banjo bolt and then the 2 copper washers that are the gaskets for the banjo bolt. You need all of that or your still not going to be up and running

Yes I can understand wanting it correct plus with it not having a sediment bowl that is looking for carb problems

The original fuel line is the one posted with the three inch long rubber section near the top. it runs straight down THROUGH both manifolds and common knowledge now is that if they go through the manifold that the line will vapor lock and your tractor won't run. Thus my 960 and 961 are the only ones still in existence with original fuel lines. The XX0 fenders are very hard to find. If there is any chance of getting yours repaired that is the route that you will probably have to take.

That they did..I'll get a better pic of the whole thing this weekend had my husband send me the pic while he was out there

The fenders aren't bad but not perfect. I
figured we were eventually going to paint
it so wanted some better ones. So do all
the hundred series fenders Interchange?
I'm going to check with a guy south of me
when we go back in a few months and pickup
an 8n on the fenders.

They are nearly the same but the bracket is different between the utilities and the row crop models. Those on the tractor are what I would call neither very good nor real bad. I have a set for a row crop that are a little worse. Whatever you do hang onto them. In another ten years someone may be willing to pay good money for them.

Was looking at the photo, looks like an original ford top link, you don't see those all that often.

I never noticed that! I haven't looked at it too much it was way too cold and windy to spend any time outside with it. Need to get an 8n finished in the shop so we can get it in and check it out better.

Like I always say one thing at a time ! LOL ! It sure looks like one, nice straight one too. Over the years I have seen a few with tractors for sale, even recall one on a ford moldboard plow that was included in the deal. Fun to see them pop up here and there. Below is a link to a previous discussion on these, some photos etc.

Welcome to the dark side Lisa.
I've seen you buy several Ns and maybe an NAA but don't remember if you had any Hundreds before this.
You will like them I'm sure.
The next thing you know you'll be looking at some Blue stuff.

Thanks! Yes several n's and 1 jubilee. This is our first hundred series. I've been waiting to find one with live PTO and power. Lol...that wouldn't surprise me if we eventually bought a blue one. I don't see them too often up here.

Shoot you should try a real tractor some time maybe like this one. This one will pull circles around any ford I have even had or used

Unless you have a very early 600/800 that used the same vane pump as an NAA/Jube the later piston pumps will all fit from mid 55 or so till early 1965.
But the pumps are pretty long lived and are easily rebuildable should one fail.

That is not the correct line and that rubber line being so close to the exhaust manifold is not a good thing because if it melts you get gas on a hot manifold which can mean FIRE. So you need the CORRECT fuel line and the sediment bowl and banjo bolt

JMOR is right about the pump. If its a piston pump, you can interchange between and 860 and hundred series pump. If its a vane pump, the manifold is different. If you substitute a piston pump you will need the manifold also.

Welcome to the world of hundred series tractors. I think you will like it. Maybe these guys will persuade me into blue one of these days.

Its a 57 860 according to the serial # I
believe. I believe its a piston pump..ill
get a pic of it this weekend. I think it
will be a nice tractor and quite a step up
from the n series. Our jubilee doesn't
have a pump on it I suppose due to the
backhoe?
