jubilee "live PTO"

has anyone had a jubilee apart with the factory live PTO option? I was wondering if I could get a description of the parts inside. (what type of clutch and hydraulic system) also wondering if they are a weak link in the drive train. any info would be helpful.
thanks

Make sure the pump is pumping first. The weakest ink in this system is the pump, in piggyback with the tractor hydraulic pump. Take it apart and polish the end plates, put new seals in it and see what happens. Take one of the seals with you to a hydraulic repair shop, they should be able to match them(4). When putting the pump back on, hock up the inlet side and the pressure side but leave the pressure fitting loose . Put air pressure in to the hyd reservoir so as to get the pump primed in as quick a time as possible. New pump parts are impossible to find. I have had two of them apart, putting new seals in the piston. had to substitute parts here also. Wishing I would have just checked the pumps before going inside. Am using one and sold(gave?) the other as good and have not heard that it doesn't .

Here are a few pictures I have of a Dearborn Live PTO
unit out of a Jubilee. It was missing the accumulator.

Only the early versions had an accumulator. Later versions did not. Yours may have been complete.
Thanks John, I was going by the diagram and did not know that.

is this unit located between the transmission and the pinion shaft for the rear end? if so does it make the trans or pinion shaft shorter? also has anyone hooked to the pressure from the main hyd pump for disengaging this clutch? I assume that it is spring engaged and pressure disengaging?

It replaces the drive shaft between the trans output and pinion. No modifications are made to the original parts. The clutch pack has an unusual way of working. With no pressure at all the clutch pack locks up mechanically by engaging the dentals at the back end. Partial pressure releases it to a neutral position so there is no drive, and full pressure compresses the disks and drives through those.
