Funk Six water pump

Anyone know where to purchase a water pump for the 226 flathead six in a Funk Conversion 8N? Only found one listing for a pickup pump, and it was $199.99, 149.99 for the car pump. Is the difference between pickup and car in the pulleys only, or more to it?

When I restored a Funk last year for a friend of mine I sent the pump to Skip Haney in South Florida. He rebuilt it and had it back to me the next week for around $125 including shipping. He is known for his work on the flathead V8 pumps but was more than glad to help me out with the one on the flathead 6 You might want to give him a call

Front or side distributor? I have a NOS for an early front mount. Cheap. My son had a Funk that I rebuilt and had a water leak. We found this NOS pump and then found a leaky upper hose.
Small leak that looked like it was coming from the pump.

Side distributor- my pump froze the third time I started it, got it broke loose but probably shot, doesn't turn smoothly. I can take a couple pictures of it tomorrow and email them to you- I'd like to just replace this one and be done with it. What's cheap? Thanks!

The pickup/truck pump is what you want. Not sure why the car is different. You will likely need to install the pulley from the old pump onto the new anyway, so don't worry about that.

NAPA number WP 58469 for the truck, WP 58465 for the car. Looked at the pictures on their site, and they look the same except for the pulley flange. Maybe one has the port for the heater hose and one doesn't, or it could just be the flange.

Gene, (my Dad's name)

Two years ago I needed a new water pump for my '54 IHC truck.
when I saw the replacement cost I started looking at rebuilding instead.
I finally located a man in Arizona called will Kellogg who specializes in rebuilding water pumps.

He was great!
I sent him a couple of pictures of my pump and he wrote back and said no problem. So what happened was he convinced me that I could do it myself and taught me how to rebuild it. He sold me the two gaskets, shaft and bearing and the seal for $17.00!!!
But he also sold me a seal installing tool that I needed for $25.
He said the same tool would fit my '53 chev 6 pump as well.

For all the steps you need a press.

The operation was a success.

Cheers,
Terry
