ford numbers

this is what I found under the paint.

B1022B is a 2000 ag chassis tractor with a diesel engine, 6 speed transmission and trans driven (non-live) PTO. It was made on or after April 1, 1968 since the leading character is a letter.

Is there a foil sticker on the under side of the right hood panel, above where the battery is located?

Sorry, brain fart... gas engine.

The lack of the other 2 numbers indicates that it might be a replacement transmission and the dealer who did the replacing only stamped the model number, or it might be that the other two numbers were ground off because the tractor was stolen at some point in its life. Did you sand or grind on the smooth part or did you use a paint remover and those grinding marks were already there?

Also, look on the same flat spot on the right side of the tractor to see if there are any numbers there. The production code for the trans should be over there.

There are other production codes on other major components (engine, rear axle trumpets and center housing and hydraulic top cover) of the tractor as well that would give you the dates that those components were assembled and then you would have a rough idea of the assembly date for the tractor as they were generally assembled a few weeks to a few months after the major components were assembled.
