I also brought home a tractor yesterday - from west, central IA.
FordFarmer and I have talked about owning the worst possible tractor in the series before and I think this one fits the bill.
Model# is 42024E Serial# C138536
I can't read the build date yet and it's only about 4 above zero today so I'm going to let that wait.
They had the rear wheels set way out so I had to pull the fenders and hire a tire service to come out and turn them around so I could winch it on my trailer.
$$ Ouch!
I bought this thinking I would strip it and put everything on that latest school tractor but it's supposed to run and drive fine. Wouldn't start tho so I'm hoping it's just points.
It was in a barn fire and has a lot of nasty smoke
all over it.
He drove it after the fire and said it still ran good. We'll see.
If the transmission works good maybe I'll keep it as is.
Does this lever mean it has the Deluxe SOS?
The tin and fenders are exceptionally nice on it and the pieces around the cowel, dash and platform all seem to be there.
It has a home made weight bracket and some Massey? weights on the front which I will sell off and put a couple of pillow weights on.
It a too big, ungainly, pernicious looking damned thing that I have NO use for. But I've wanted a NF Ford for a long time so I bought it.
