Sean you were correct, after removing more crud I found two letters
cast after the engine casting number. Now reads as C7NN6015 AK,
hope this helps. I am going to attempt to attach photos of the areas
you requested. Thanks again for your help.

Well, Google returns only one hit that claims a C7NN6015 AK is from a 3000 and lots others that claim it is from a 4000.

The C7 at the beginning definitely means that the engine block casting was designed in 1967, so the Unit number being a 1966 number means that the trans and engine are from two different tractors originally. The D at the beginning of the engine serial number means that it should be a 4000 series engine.

The other pictures show that it is definitely has a 3000 rear axle and front axle and steering setup as well.

So I can tell you that for everything except the engine you should definitely be looking at the operators manual, service manual and parts book for a 3000. For the engine, I'm still betting that it's a 4000 engine with the Simms pump from the original 3000 engine transplanted to it.

It might be a

Thanks for the info. Would the 4000 engine be to strong for the 3000 drive train? Also it appears that part of your last post was cut off at "It might be"

Sorry, meant to delete that last bit before I posted it. I was thinking of all of the possible variants of the 4000 that might have the radius rod front end and the 3000 style rear axle, but I couldn't find one that matched what you have. The only 4000 series models that had the 3000 style rear axle were the 4110 and the 4410. The 4110 was the Low Center of Gravity version and had the 3000 style rear axle and adjustable radius rod front axle, but the front spindles were shorter and yours look like standard height spindles. The 4410 was the "Woods" model, and it had the 3000 style rear axle as well, but the front axle on that model was the fixed width non-adjustable front axle that was the same as the 3400.

So my original educated guess is what I'm sticking with... it's most likely a 3000 that had an engine from a 40000 swapped in, and the original Simms pump from the 3000 engine was swapped over to the 4000 engine.
