I have a skid steer CL40. It recently overheated. When I got everything apart The fan and shaft came out of the motor. It looks like I blew a bearing. I noticed that there are 2 grooves on the shaft. My guess is that they are for O rings or???? I am wondering if anyone has any experience with these tractors. I'm looking for a digital manual but cannot tell if they have the info I need. I guess my question is how to put it back together? Is it just a bearing and put it back in place or do I need to dismantle a bit more ? Also does anyone have input for what manual will give me the necessary diagrams?
Thanks

We had a CL 40 at the lumberyard, is this the V-4 engine, and I think it was ford or had valve covers that had Ford script on them. Trying to recall the details, as this one overheated, more from lack of care/service, I remember doing the repair as I often did, to get or keep things running, we used it for snow removal, for some reason I thought it had an external water pump, its been 30 years or so since, so other than useless banter LOL ! probably not much help.

Actually a good bit of help so far. It is a four cyl. with the Ford script on it. I thought that the pump was external. The part that has me concerned is that the fan and shaft came out in my hand. First I want to be sure that is suppose to happen. I can tell the bearing exploded. Also along the shaft there are 2 grooves. I was trying to find out if they needed a seal or??? Any thoughts on where to get a diagram?
