861 workmaster

861 would have been a PowerMaster, not a WorkMaster.
They were red and grey. Like the picture below.
601 WorkMasters were all red with grey fenders and wheels IIRC.

If you are going to be getting paint, the red is called "orange red" as opposed to vermillion on the earlier ones, and the gray has a little what I would call yellow tint to it. The different shades started with the XX1s.

(quoted from post at 22:28:16 02/06/15) thats a nice looking tractor Royce. Is it yours?
I wish it were. It sold at a local farm auction a couple years ago.
They let it set there and run all day long, drove it around forward
and backward, showed people that both brakes worked, PTO, 3 pt,
etc then shut it off so they could better hear the bids when selling it.
I quit at $3000 and I think it sold for $3500.

This 970 setting next to it went for $4500. Same sales technique.

I believe these are the correct colors on my 861 as far as I could find. And believe me, I did a lot of research.

I believe you are correct Tom. Pretty much the same as the
one I posted but not old and faded.
You sure do good work!

I think the New Holland 8n boomer has just about the same colors as the X01 series only the paint cost more.

Yup. That's the orange red. Have to admit. I cheated some on the paint. I had the painters at the shop use their fancy computerized color matcher and some samples I came up with on the web. Worked out perfectly. They assembled and mixed the pigments and sprayed it with some kind of lacquer and hardener. All I know is they did a good job. I had to fight 'em to keep from painting flames on the hood. These guys really get into their jobs. Only cost me a couple cases of beer. They have my 4000 in their sights for this summer. They want me to just drop it off and come back in a month and leave the rest to them. Not sure if I want to go there......hahahahah
