Foot Throttle

Does anyone have a picture of a foot throttle on a 62-64 4000 Light Industrial SOS so that I can see what it looks like, and what I'm missing?

Got to talk to Tony some yesterday, I do recommend anyone who has questions to talk with him, he is very knowledgeable and very excited about these tractors, wished I had more time yesterday to talk, and could have had my phone in the barn to check on things while I was talking.

I'm gonna take some pictures tonight of what I have left on the tractor, and see what I"m missing.

Its not really a necessity to replace, but it would be nice to have.

I'm not doing a full blown show quality restoration, but I want to fix a lot of these smaller issues while I have it split and before I put the loader back on, as a lot of the stuff is harder to work on once its in place.

After talking with him, I found out that I do have the correct rear tires on it, and that my front mounted pump has been replaced at some point with a different one. Lots of good info from our chat.

I am very thankful for all of the knowledge that is shared here on the forum, if it weren't for all of you guys n gals I would have given up on my tractor a long time ago.

Pedal mounts to the running board, one pivot goes on the steering box bolts, one pivot goes under the battery, and the linkage goes up the left side.

I think I have some extra parts for one around here, everything except the pedal if I remember correctly.

.

Will have to double check when I get home, but I know I have that rod that goes under the battery box, and the upper silver linkage you show on the right side, and its pivot behind the running board, but not sure what else, so may not be much for me to find/make to get it working.

I took the running board off the other night, and it didn't have a rod or the pedal mount on it anymore.

I'll take some pics tonight and post them, so I can see what I'm missing.

I went down and took some pictures of mine. They look
exactly like the ones John Smith posted already except mine
are not as clean and shiny. I think mine is still all factory
original. Here they are just in case they help out at all.

Looks like I have it all except the pedal itself and the lower rod. And any brackets that are on the running board.

I can help with Discription and more pictures if needed but
don't have any spare parts. Is your running board designed for
the foot pedal?

Hello Keith , Norms tractor has the Foot Pedal used on the 1960-1962 Red and Buff Light Duty Industrial tractors because it is the Fixed version . John Smiths is the 1962-1965 Blue and Buff Light Duty Industrial version and the pedal is Adjustable . Thanks Tony

Had a request for more pictures on this, so here it is.

You can see the right side running board has a notch in it, if you can't find one like that, you can always cut yours to fit, the notch is for the pedal linkage.

I should have taken more pictures of the process, but I found my original post here, that had some excellent pics from those who helped me with running down the parts.

My tractor had the correct throttle rod that bolts to the front of the steering box, and the pivot pin that bolts to the side of the steering box, I have seen these on many hundred and thousand series tractors in the salvage yards, as well as the notched running boards. Looking for the running board as you walk through the salvage yard is the quickest way to find a donor for those brackets you need to take off.

As for the linkages, I found gov/throttle linkages off of N's to be suitable to bend and fit for length.

The hardest part to find for me, was the pedal and bracket itself. I got extremely lucky and when I found one at the salvage yard, once I got it off, the guy looked at it and said $5, he didn't like them, said he has pitched so many of them over the years that he couldn't count.

They do make some aftermarket kits for the N's and Jubilees, and I have seen them for the 3cyl tractors as well, I don't know if they make them for the Hundred/Thousand series, but I'm sure if you look hard you can find them, might not like the price though.

When I'm driving around I set my throttle at between 1000-1200 RPM and use the foot throttle for the rest, that way I can let off during gear shifts just like you would if you were driving a car.
