Hello to everyone picked up a jubilee from a person I worked with yesterday, he has owned it 25 years, it's a working traactor, it has what he called a two speed rear end, after looking at smith tractor page and this forum I am still not sure what to call it, I am hoping someone will take look and see what they think, thanks

2 speed rear end maybe a Howard rotavator. Or if the shifter is in front of the clutch pedal that could be a Sherman which could be one of the 3 common ones which is over drive or under drive or maybe which is better a combo

Sorry, my pic did not load, it has a second lever about 12 inches long coming out of the pto lever plate, thanks

I'm not positive but that sounds like the LIVE PTO option for
the Jubilee. It disengaged the rear end without pushing the
clutch pedal so the PTO would keep running operates like a
hand clutch

I agree.
I don't know of a 2-speed rear end for any Ford tractors, but there were auxiliary transmissions available, which could be mistaken for a 2-speed rear end... but their shifters were on the side of the bellhousing.

I do not know for sure if there was a Howard for the Jubilee but if there was it was between the transmission and the rear end and the shifter for it was under the seat.

This is what the live PTO lever looks like

Yes and that would sort of make it look like a 2 speed rear end if the person did not know better that is why I was saying what I have been

thanks for the replies, I have not run the tractor yet needs exhaust work, it does have the Sherman combo in front, I tried to load a pic without success yet, the lever in question comes out of the same cover as pto lever. Has three positions, neutral center, tractor will roll free in this position, thanks

Does Tim's picture look like what you have?

Note that lever is for the Live PTO set up but if it has a Howard it would have a lever on the other side

I tried lightening up the photo (hope it worked) so you can see
it better all the hoses are for remotes, have nothing to do with
lever.

Thanks for replies, yes, I can see better with pic lightened, has one of the levers been added to? Mine has standard pto lever , couple inches forward coming out same cover another like one in pic thanks

If the owner said it's a 2 speed rear end it probably has a Howard transmission in it. The Howard shift lever for the NAA is on the left side with the pto shifter. Here's a picture of one.
