I would like opinions of what a 951-961 would be worth , I haven't found one just planning , found cultivator for the front and don't have the tractor yet so I am looking, I think over a little time I will probably want a 901 and a 701 ,I like the red belly and accents over the early thousands with blue accents , I have looked a few just not the write one yet .

There are many models of the 901/701. The 901 is a series of tractors as is the 701. Say you find a 941 or 741 that will tell me it has a4 speed and no live PTO. A 951 will have a 5 speed and no live PTO but the 961 will have a live PTO. The 961 should cost more then say a 951 due to the option of live PTO. But if you find say a 971 or 981 those have the SOS and will cost less but can be a money pit also

Everyone will have a different opinion on this, but it depends partly on what you want. If you want a tractor for work only and don't care about it looking shiny and new, you could probably find one in decent working condition for maybe $2000 to $3000. A 961 w/live PTO may cost a bit more than a 951 but is better if you are mowing with it. Also condition of the rear tires makes difference.
Myself, I would rather spend little more to get one in nice shape. I bought a '60 961 from the classifieds on this site a few years ago for $3500 which some may think is too much but the tractor was in pretty good nick and although I had to do some work to it, there was nothing major. I am very happy with it. A primo show quality machine might be up to $6000-7000 but if you want that and buy a beat up tractor you will probably have that in it at the end of the day. Just my 2 cents. -Will

You could maybe look on Tractorhouse.com to get some Idea what they are asking for them,I think there a little high on their prices but it can give you a ballpark.

As with most tractors of that flavor and size, 1500-3500$ depending on looks and condition, option and tires.

Well I am all ears tell me what the pto will do to make this a more usefully tractor. I would possibly entertain the idea of a cotton picker, or corn picker?

Brush hog or a finish mower. A hay baler or a sickle bar mower. AS PTO generator in case the power goes out etc etc etc. Yes a corn picker or cotton picker also need a PTO

If all you want to do with it is run a front cultivator, then no, you don't "need" a PTO. But once you have a tractor you keep finding more and more things that you want to do with it, and once your list starts growing you'll probably be glad it has one.
