Water leak?

Went up to camp this past week, I guess it got pretty cold cause the freeze plug on my Ford 850 had popped out, the one near the battery. I put it back in and put some antifreeze in it. When I started it there was water coming from the exhaust manifold, the front middle port (2port). Is there a gasket between the exhaust manifold and the engine block that may have gotten bent or moved? I checked the oil and it wasn't milky. I haven't pulled the manifold off yet was thinking I would cause more problems if the bolts broke off. Any ideas? I can start and run the tractor it just leaks a bit. Thanks

Yes there is a gasket there but if does not have coolant behind it. I do not remember if the manifold studs go into the water jacket on that tractor but if I where to bet I would say you due to lack of antifreeze in the system have a cracked head

Manifold studs on the 134/172 engines do not extend into the water jacket.

If it has a cracked head would water get into the oil? Also is there a way to fix it since it shouldn't be under too much pressure i.e. JB weld? Spot weld?

Yes it could be cracked and not have water in the oil. As for a repair a new head in the only way that will work long if at all

I would first trouble shoot then maybe look for a head but I would not do any thing till I knew what was wrong. Pull the manifold and have a look see.
