4 Cly Engine Codes

I know that engine codes on the right-side of the engine block will determine what size of engine it is, a 134, 172, or 192? I can't find the information in the achieves, maybe Tony Jacobs can chime in. Thanks

Here's one site that explains Ford casting codes in general, not just for tractors but for cars and trucks as well, and not just for engine blocks, but for all parts, but only for the ones that start with a letter followed by a number. The ones that are all numbers and the ones that start with multiple letters in a row were older methods that aren't well documented from before they standardized across the board on the method described in the link below.

The Date Codes section of this website is WRONG. The date code 79C is absolutely correct and is NOT supposed to be 9C7. 79C translates to: 7 (1957) 9 (September) C (3rd day of the month). A few years ago several of us looked at these date codes and finally broke the "code". The 26th-31st days of the month are represented by upside down or backwards letters.
