3400 reverse light switch

Hi, I am in the process of putting lights on my 3400. I want to incorporate backup lights into my setup. I have a standard transmission. I tried searching for a reverse light switch for the tranny but found nothing on the new holland site or this forum. Does such a switch exist? If not, has anyone found a way to jerry-rig something to accomplish the same thing? Thanks in advance.

Just put a toggle light on your dash. I'm not aware of any tractor that had backup lights like a car. You don't usually park a tractor in a parking lot. :)

A micro switch could be mounted so that the shift lever contacts it when in reverse.

Most old ford shifters are solo loose and sloppy, I think a pin
switch or similar will be a hard fan.would need spring loaded
linkage and go for an overshoot.

I've see shift levers with 3/8 "play, that's an awful lot for a
contact switch. Again, flexible and spring loaded linkage can
make it work, but IMHO, field effect switch cuts most of the
work out.

Not my machine... or money.. so no dog in the fight.

I vote for a toggle on the dash (cheapest, quickest, least finicky).

You could pickup a mercury switch and wear it on your shoulder so that when you twist around to look behind you the light comes on :)

could go as fancy as hall effect sensor, or as cheap and reliable as a reed switch and a rare earth magnet tab.

I've made brake lamp switches for tractors that way for when pulling a trailer with electric brakes, the brakes key off the brake lamp line. magnetic tab on the pedal linkage, when it moves over the reed switch.. bang... you got brake lamps and electric brakes to trailer.
