Plow with 4000?

How do you think this might work for a couple small food plots? I could pull it with my 4000 maybe? Came across it while deer hunting this weekend and asked the landowner if he wanted to sell it. He told me to come back in spring when it thaws out and he'd just be happy to see it gone! Mine if I want it. Freebie! Now, is it worth going to get it? Fixable to use? Could it be converted to a 3 point with some welding and steel? Or just yard art? Have no idea at this point.

That is obviously a moline plow I would post it on
Moline board and see if you can trade it for a 3
point 2 bottom plow , even if you have to give a
little boot you will have a more usable plow for a
4000 as that would need to be behind a moline r.

Ok, now you have me curious...

Why would it have to behind a Moline? I must be missing something...

Thanks,
Matthew

That's what I thought...Figured someone wanted a Moline plow for their Moline tractor. My next thought was that a 4000 ought to pull that relatively easily.

With enough time and/or money many things are possible but converting a pull type trip plow to three point is not practical.

If you want it, pick it up and sell it (or scrap it) and put the money toward a three point plow.

It is likely not serviceable.

I didn't mean to confuse anyone I only thought blue
with blue , red with Red, and prairie gold with
prairie gold, not the correct police but a 1930's
plow will look different behind a 4000 especially if
it is a 3 banger.

Your 4 banger should pull it easily.
Though with a trailer plow it's more important to have ballast in your tires.
Still, For gardens and or deer plots it would sure beat nothing. So if the wear parts are even halfway decent I would take it and try it.
If you don't like it you could still sell it and put the $ towards a 3 pt plow. I'll bet some MM collector would give you something for it.

Agree, Get it, sell it and get one of these. In
decent soil your 4000 shouldn't have a problem
pulling a 3 bottom.

food plots?
so, 'unclean' ground
(can't think of the right word, so 'unclean' it is)

Your 4000 will tear that plow to pieces.
Pretty cool looking, I'd yard art it,
then buy a 3-point 2-bottom (2-bottom cuz of that 'ground' again)

A little late posting here. That plow was made for a fixed tractor wheel tread, Fordson, John Deere GP, McCormick 10-20 tractor, do not knoe Moline models, But it is for a 52" wheel tread only tractor as the hitch is not adjustable side to side. Your ford minimum wheel tread is 56" and should be set on 60" wheel tread and would pull 4 bottoms of that type. That plow belongs with a tractor of the type I mentioned at shows. It dates from very early 30's, probably more like the 20's. Probably made for a Fordson as Moline made the cultivators for the Fordsons.
