What is a 4140?

I agree with Mark. Tag says CA4 which is a general purpose chassis 3910. Unit number is December 12, 1986 Day Shift.

Seller probably just doesn't know what he has. Full model number on sticker says CA414C, and he is probably reading the last C as a zero and assumes that the "4140" is the model number.

4140 was another name for the 4000SU, as the model designator was 414 or D14 for that model. If you look up parts for the 3 cylinder 4000 series you'll see references to the 4140 for some parts, like the front axle drawings for the 2000/3000 series are included for the 4000 series because the 4140 (4000 SU) and the 4110 (LCG) both used that style of front end.

At the New Holland on line parts look up you can also put in 4140 and bring it up that way.
