9600 ford won't go into reverse

Has anyone had a problem getting a 9600 to go into reverse all other gears work ok

Either your shift linkage is out of adjustment (does the lever bottom out in the slot?), or you have a broken shift fork. I hope for your sake that it's not the latter, because you'll have to tear the tranny completely down to replace, and you'll have to hunt for a good used part.
