4000 Ford hydraulics

I am looking at buying a 1970s Ford 4000 with loader but it
has a selector valve under the seat between loader and 3
point kind of acts weird but works. The guy was using it for hay
so there is no hydraulic cylinder on the hay spear. Right now
you select it one way and the loader works with the 3 point
lever and you put it the other way and the 3 point works. Cani
just install a two spool open center control valve ? Or do I
need one of these in the picture ? Thanks

Go cheaper and get a power beyond plate to put under the blank option plate on the front of the Hyde cover, then get a cheap pub valve, vs the expensive OE style.

I agree about the power beyond plate, but it needs to go under the selector valve, as it sounds like the original blocking plate was replaced by the selector valve and he probably doesn't have the original blocking plate any longer.

If there is a valve up there and he's not talking about the asc, just sandwich it, and don't use the top valve. That's what the pd plate would do under the blank cover anyway.
