Ford 445 backhoe loader tractor year model?

I have a ford 445 backhoe tractor, was wondering what year model, I am pretty sure I have the production code number from above the starter. 3C14B. Also other numbers or codes from the same location, C697742 & KD411K. Can anyone advise?
Thanks

Don't have great pictures right now and will be out of pocket for the next 3 weeks at least, this is the best I have with me at this time.

Production code 3C14B: March 14, 1983. Day shift.

Model Code KD411K: Model 445A, diesel, no pto, 6x4 manual reversing transmission.

Serial number C697742. Made in USA. Consistent with 1983 serial numbers.

KD4 should be a 445A, but my references say that the 445A wasn't made until 1984, and the New Holland parts site claims that it didn't start production until June of 1985, so obviously there's some disagreement across the board as to when that model started production, but the serial number and Unit number both point to 1983. Plus that 445 decal looks original

Interesting thing is that the New Holland parts site shows the 445 was made from 1/78 through 5/85, so even though it's got a DK4 model designator, the parts site seems to indicate that it would still be called a 445 being made in 1983, so I'm at a loss.

It may have some features of the earlier 445 and some of the later 445A. Main difference I can see is that the 445 had a 183 ci engine (4.2 bore x 4.4 stroke) while the 445A had a 192 (4.4 bore x 4.2 stroke). But the parts site shows both a 4.2 and a 4.4 stroke crankshaft for both models, so if you ever need engine work done you will need to open it up and measure things before you go ordering parts.

[WOW, Thanks for the info, guess it pays to ask the right question.

I tried to look this info up myself, but was having trouble with the way Ford has the special system to designate the year of production, I kept coming up with a 1973 model. I felt this was not correct, thanks for clearing this issue for me.

The 3 at the beginning of the unit Number (production code), 3C14B, just means that it as made ina year that ended in a 3 (1973, 1983, 1993, etc.) You have to know the range of years that your particular model was produced to know which decade that year falls in.

When searching the web for how to decode the Unit Number most folks find the Springfield Oaktree site which only really documents the 1965-1975 thousand series. The same general rules apply for the month, day of the month and shift, but the exact year will vary from decade to decade depending on when a particular model was made.

Thanks Sean

I also have the info for the front loader and backhoe, maybe you can tell me something about these components? I had no luck at all trying to research these numbers. If so it might shine some light on the tractor itself? The unit is all original, never been painted and has 3200 hours on unit with a working tach and hour meter.

Loader:
COMP 19-855
S# CL36739

Hoe:
COMP 19-803
S# CB33898

If you go to the New Holland parts site here:

http://partstore.agriculture.newholland.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::model_find

and search on the 19-xxx numbers, you'll find that 19-855 is the lift arm assembly for the loader, which shows that the same lift arm assembly was used on both the 445 and 445A.

The 19-803 number doesn't return anything, which means that it's probably a number for some part of the hoe that isn't listed as its own assembly on the parts site.
