Seller says it's a 7000, but "non-turbo". (also says
it has a syncro trans) I can't read the stickers on
the hood, but it does have the dry air filter. I'm
thinking they just dont' really know what they have.
My guess is it's a 5000 hi-crop (38" rears and
rowcrop spindles) that has had some sheetmetal
replaced. Not sure what the fenders are from - I
can't make them look like x600 flattops, and they
aren't 52/7200 fenders.
7000?

It's not a late model 5200, but close.

Just a 5000?

Not a bad starting price for whatever it is.

Does it have the dual power, or hi Lo, Ford kept moving that level or pedal around so don't know where to look...

Right - definatly not a 5200 or 7200 - wrong front bolster and not a flat deck. But not just a plain 5/7000 either, with that front axle.
DP lever should be on the left side of the dash for a 5/7000, so I'm pretty sure it's just a straight 8-speed. Looks like a single-speed PTO in the rear picture. I think all DP models have 540/1000.

With the square top fenders and the dry air filter,
Looks like a 5600 all purpose with a 5000 grill on it? Just a guess...

Looks like a 5000 all purpose that has the hood and front grill shell from a 7000 on it. Also has the row crop front end and rear wheels. Rear fenders are not Ford at all. The statement, "Will trade for John Deere equipment" just about sums it all up.

Its got the 7000 spring on the rear for the load monitor to work.. so there are some 7000 parts on it... probably a 5000/5600 engine with a 7000 rear end would be closer..

Mexican 5200? Can't say, never saw one, although I sell parts to a guy that owns one. Built 75-79 ish.

You're right - I had missed the spring.
The knees and spindles are taller than the a.p. ones... I wonder if
the 7000 was available as a high crop?

Too bad it's an hour and a half away... if it was close, I'd go take a look, just to see what it really is.

You should go look at it regardless, and take $4000 cash and some piece of junk that says john deere on it, and bring it home.

It could be a 5000 with a 7000 hood, or it could be a 7000 with a 5000 engine. They didn't make a high crop version of that tractor, though. My 7000 literature is out in a freezing dark building, but, I don't think you could get that tire option on the all purpose. Must be a Frankenstein. Still worth $4000-4500 easily, if it runs good.
