glass fuel sediment bowl replacement

Just purchased a 3000. Don't know the year yet, but suspect mid 70's. Trying to get her started up, and fuel was pouring out the glass bowl. Found out it is cracked and a piece missing.

What is the fix for this? I'm not finding a replacement glass bowl, just some metal assemblies. Is there a source for the original ones?

Most any farm and home store should have them. As will a number of auto parts store and of course a tractor dealer or even this site should have them. They are very very common and there is only 2 or 3 sizes of them

Really! I've been searching for an hour now and not finding one. Must be doing something wrong. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the reply...

Shoot I can go out to my shop and lay my hands on 3 or more of them. Searching on the net is not always a good place to look for many common parts unless you want to get ripped off

Not sure what you mean by pill bottle style. But either way a good New Holland dealer will have them

This is like mine. I found the picture in another post on here and borrowed it.

As I said a New Holland dealer is your best bet or the Case/IH/New Holland web site

I'm pretty sure the New Holland replacement for that will be a metal cup.

If all else fails, go to tractorhouse.com They have 75ea Ford 3000's listed in salvage in their dismantled machines section.

You might think so but you probably can't. This bowl is smaller diameter (about 1") than the ones you have lying around. This bowl is not common, and not cheap.

Don't let these guys BS you. They have good intentions and are good mechanics but don't work on 3 cylinder tractors.
The one in the picture was an NOS one that I had.
I sold it a couple of years ago for $125 plus shipping.
They are no longer available anywhere.
A friend of mine made a new cup for his out of aluminum on the lathe so that may be an option for you
I have two used ones in my desk drawer. I will sell one for $40 plus shipping. Complete unit and has the line to the carb just like you see in the photo.
My email is open.

I'd take UltraDog up on his offer. Especially on a nice tractor.
But....me...spending big $ on a little glass thing....ha
I'd take that broken one to a hobby/model/etc store
and I'd find one of those little paint bottles that would work.
neck diameter close....too short, a spacer under the bail would get it done.

and if I was really in a hack mood. piece of water pipe with a screw-on cap, cut to length.
