Need suggestions on cam follower pin on ford 851

I had a post about doing this 4 or 5 days back, I've gotten the top off and have located the pin, or what's left of it (paper thin), my problem is figuring out a way to drive the pin out I tried using a punch and hammer but I'm afraid I'm going to break the arm doing that I saw a post a couple of weeks ago where someone had built a smaller pin and used a puller and the built pin and pushed the follower out but I've been unable to locate that post, I'm open to any and all suggestions.
 
UD has given you good advise.

I always arrange to have a helper to back up the arm while I drive the old pin out and the new pin in.

I use a 3 - 4 lb. hammer and deep 1/4" socket to back up the arm and a 2 1/2 lb. hammer and suitable drift to drive the old pin into the deep socket which is held in place and backed up with the heavy hammer by my helper. With a helper I can do this in less than 5 minutes without damaging any of the linkage.

With a helper, there is no need to disassemble any of the linkage to R & R the pin.

Apply heavy grease to the cam and pin before replacing the cover.

Sorry, "1/4" socket" should be "1/4" drive socket" (3/8" IIRC).

yea I always get anxious but I've never needed too much whack to get mine out. I do what dean said- I get an old connecting rod pin from a small engine and place that in a machinists vise flush w the jaws. I lay the arm on the vise with the pin in the con rod and bang on it. Between the vise and the con rod its well enough supported. I was scared of busting it the first time, but not the other times.
 
After a reading and trying every ones suggestions and several failed inventions and fighting with the pin till nearly 1:00AM and a lot of frustration I finally got it, the tractor is back up and running and hydraulics working great, Thanks everyone for the suggestions
