Got to love those Worthingtons

OK, so call me ignorant, but what's the point of having something like this instead of a normal tractor? Besides being ugly, it doesn't look very useful to me.

They are good for pulling a wagon or reel mowers and if equipped like my G10 with a 3pt hitch and pto could have many uses.

Well,
For one thing you could add a side by side seat and your wife could go along when mowing or parading.
Beyond that, not much that I can think of.

cool,
good price for a try-out on that one.
If you think of them as a parts chaser/wannabe jeep/golf cart/manly go-kart,
they make more sense than calling them a tractor.

I'd like to try one.
With a truck trans, it would be awfully tempting to put on a Ed Roth/ RatFink T-shirt,
and do some engine swapping..............

(quoted from post at 19:48:01 12/16/14) I would like to know where I could locate a side by side seat. I sure would like to have one for my tractor.

You build it. Weld up the frame from 3/4 angle stock, cut a piece of plywood, get a piece of foam, staple vinyl to the underside with foam between.

And just like doodle bugs some guys don't like them some guys do. Here's an early model G with the 8n tin.

That one has a 134 engine and with the ford truck
trans and rear would probably do 40 miles an hour
on the road. I don't know if I'd swap it for a
bigger engine. My concerns would be the brakes and
steering at that speed.
My G10 has a 192 engine in it and can hit some
scary speeds with plenty of pedal left. I don't
drive it that fast, guess I'm too old for that.
If you think about the asking price of 750, which
he may or may not get, it's just about the price
you'd pay for a good running engine to transplant
into a tractor. My G10 "tractor" has the truck
tranny granny gear, full hydraulics,3pt hitch, and
pto so it's a little more functional then most.
I have seen the earlier model G (8n tin)done up
with a flathead V8 and all chromed out and it
looked real cool.
Some don't like them but I do.
