This machine looks like it was designed to pull a
decent sized diskplow or baler.

Ford 6000 Tractor

They will pull 5 14's with no problem. Here is a video of a 5 14 semi mounted plow on our red one and a 4 14 mounted plow on the blue on. Working on a mounted 5 bottom to hopefully use next year. Alot of people don't like the 6000 but they are a pretty good tractor to use, guess thats why we have 6 of them!!! That one is a little high to me since it has trans problems.

Ford9000puller is right - they could pull 5-14's. My Grandpa bought his Commander 6000 and 5-14's plow at the same time. I think 1967. He also pulled a heavy 13' disk and ran an IH 82 pull-type combine with that 6000.
A late 5000 is rated at the same h.p. (67 at the pto) as a 6000, and a 7000 is rated at 83 h.p. Both are better tractors than the 6000, but are also more expensive to buy. (maybe not as expensive to fix though!)

at the risk of spreading rumors.. around here there said to be problematic and unreliable.. weak rear ends...

But I personally cant vouch for the tractor. The are very hard to sell around here.

Hi
From what I understand, the first red ones
were not that great. Ford then launched the
blue, that was supposed to be better. I don't
know if this is true that they were or not.
Round here you couldn't give them away. Either the
damage was done before the updates.

a couple years ago there was a slight interest
in them for export to the U.K and europe but only around $2500 for nice ones, as
Ford never sold them there from new, only all
the other 000 series models from x & y world
wide series tractors. That 6000 market has
dropped now again and I hardly see any other
than in wreckers now in Manitoba.
I also heard ford took back most of the red
ones did the blue/grey updates painted them
blue/grey and sent them back to guys.

The red ones are very rare, and guys
occasionally find red and cream paint under
blue/grey on older ones.
Like most tractors there's junk and good ones,
so depending on how a guys was will give you
different answers. some love them and some
swore about them, i guess!
Regards Robert
