Ford Low-Center-of-Gravity tractor

This looks like an interesting mowing machine for anyone willing to travel to southern California.

I've got a decent set of loaded tires and rims for one but with bar style tread. Made a deal on them thinking they were something else. I probably should put them on CL.

The tractor in that picture and in the CL ad that you linked to is a 4 cylinder 2000 LCG. The Ford advertising article that you posted below the picture is for the 2110 and 4110 LCG models, which were part of the later 3 cylinder line-up. They did make LCG chassis versions of the 4 cylinder 2000 and 4000 series tractors, but they were known as the 2031, 2131, 4031 and 4131, not the 2110 and 4110.

A friend of mine has a 63 just like the one pictured but with different rear tires/rims and without the PS.

It is a nice mowing tractor for a 5' cutter on steep ground.

There are quite a few of those around here.

I always wanted to try to straddle the creek to mow both banks at the same time!

Also, we have quite a few Deweze mowers around here. they are like a big dirtbike with a mower deck.

Instead of putting them on Craigslist, you should build a mini grain cart that holds about 150 bushel! I think I saw someone had one at half century of progress. It looked really cool and fit under the auger of the older combines

I've always thought those old Fords already have a very low center of gravity...I had no idea they made LCG models on top of the already (in my opinion) low belly.

(quoted from post at 11:18:17 12/08/14) I've always thought those old Fords already have a very low center of gravity...I had no idea they made LCG models on top of the already (in my opinion) low belly.

The only difference between the standard chassis and the LCG chassis was the front spindles were shorter by a few inches on the LCG's, plus they simply used shorter rear wheels, 24" instead of 28".

They also had 15" front rims/tires and a fixed (non swinging) under axle drawbar.

The drawbar may have been an optional thing.
A guy I know has a Prior 2000 LCG and it has a regular drawbar on it. Dunno about the 15" wheels - I didn't look at them.
His has the dual 24" rear wheels.

All of the prior 2000 LCGs I've seen have had a fixed under axle drawbar but the more common swinging drawbar may well have been optional.
