I have this 5030 that we use as a back hoe and fork left. It had some time ago distribution pump work done how ever the mechanic from the ford tractor repair shop did something wrong because it would be hard to start without using starting fluid and it some times it would smoke a small bit, but now it smoke very heavily 0and top rpms is only about 13000 with very little power. Got any ideas as to how to fix it? thanks ern :? :?

on't smoke long enough to fix it at 13000rpm. :lol:
 
I assume you mean 1300 rpm? If it spun at 13,000 rpm, I'd like to buy it for tractor pulling.


Sounds like a crack in the injection pump. You need to get the pump to a specialist for a second opinion.

rom: Ernie's Research thanks, and yes I did goof in posting 13000 rpms when I meant to say 1300 rpms.
That what I get for trying to put 12 to 18 hour days 7 days at a time. Any way I do thank you Mr. John_PA for your reply. ern

Got to wonder if you cracked a ring? Starting fluid and diesels requires great care and restraint...

What's the compression like?
