861 fuel assembly

My '59 861 with 4000 tin and fuel tank shut off valve doesn't shut off. Plus the carb has a small crack on the bottom of the bowl. So I'm losing fuel. A must fix. I can fix the carb with some JB Gumbo.
The fuel line has either been cut or replace non original.
There is no Sediment Bowl. Only an in line filter.
I wanted to get it all back right. But I'm now suffering from sticker shock.
"Just Ns" prices:
Valve-----$27
Fuel line from Valve to Sediment Bowl ---$78
Sediment Bowl ----$23
Line from Bowl to Carb----$18
Total----$146 plus shipping

This site:
Valve----$47.65
Fuel from Valve to Sediment Bowl---$46.24
Sediment Bowl---N/A
Line from Bowl to Carb---N/A

Guess my main problem is the cost of the Fuel line from Valve to Sediment Bowl. Why is it so high? I can't get a closeup of it. Looks like part of it is rubber? Would that line attach to the valve and Bowl? Or would I also need to get fittings to do that for it?
Any where I can get by for less money? But I don't want inferior parts.

robably because the original was metal at both ends with a hose in the middle.

Prices are not bad.

The cost of the fuel line is "high" due the low volume of production. I believe the correct steel/neoprene fuel line is available only from CNH but it does fit correctly.

The sediment bulb mounts to the carburetor and the fuel line attaches to the sediment bulb assembly.

Be advised that the fuel line is available in two sizes as is the carburetor mounted sediment bulb assembly. You need the larger size (later SN). You will also need the (large size) banjo bolt to mount the sediment bulb and two compressed paper gaskets. Both are CNH only.

It would be nice to get it back right. But then it's a 861 with 4000 tin. So correct is not highly important. Lot of money for something that will work as is. Could get by with just a new valve. I know a guy that parts out a lots of tractors. Mostly 'N's. But does do others when he finds a good deal on one. Might just wait for him to get one. Is the a size different from a 4000 valve an one for an 861?

They changed the valve on January 1, 1960, so the valve on a later 861 (made on or after 1/1/60) would match the valve on a a 4 cylinder 4000, but an 861 made earlier than 1/1/60 would have a different valve.

You're going to want to get the correct fuel line with the rubber section in it. The po of my 861 apparently didn't want to spend the money for the correct one and I never noticed that there was a brass coupling in the line that was put there when the rubber went bad. He replaced the rubber with a piece of steel gas line. I was baling hay on an 85* day when it decided to start leaking at the shut off valve. Needless to say, I got very lucky. I now have the correct line on the tractor.

I would not want to rely on a used fuel shut-off valve.

Be advised that there are two styles of fuel shut-off valve, the screw type and the lever type.

Yes I've seen that. Mine has the Level. If both has the same thread sizes I don't just it would matter which one I get.
