hydraulic leak at pump

I'm trying to remove a hydraulic pump on a 1966 ford 4000. the tube above it is leaking and I can't get it off Can anyone help

There is a very small circlip on the tube going from the pump to the flow control valve.
You have to remove that circlip then slide the tube upwards into the flow control valve.
Then the pump can be removed.
Usually there is a lot of paint on that tube so it wont slide easily.
I took a utility knife and removed most of the paint. Then I clamped on to the tube with a vise grip and tapped upwards on the vise grip to slide it.
The I&T FO-31 manual says to remove the top cover to do it but I'm not sure you have to.
Others here can verify that. I had the top cover off already.

Removing the top cover does squat. Do what you described.... slide the clip up/off and then grab the tube and slide it up into the flow control. Reinstalling the pump may be a trick if the strainer doesn't like up... but it mabey should go without too much hassle.

Both of the lines to the pump - suction and the one to the pto - were fairly rigid and slipped back into place easily when I reinstalled the pump.

I can't get the tube to clear the pump, I'm not sure if it needs to be completely out of the pump before I can get the pump out, the pump clears the lineup pins but it won't come out I don't know how much force I can put on it to remove it is there something else keeping it from coming out?

Keep working at the tube. I think it should go up but you can also try to move it down into the pump. One way or the other... the tube will slide into either the pump or flow control valve and it MUST do so for the pump to come off.
