Hydraulic quadrant friction disk replacement question

I looked on Messick's website for a blow up of the friction disk and surrounding bits and their drawing seems to be missing that particular detail. This is on my 63 2000 SOS that I keep limping along. The quadrant has been getting looser recently and now it has decided to slowly creep down as you bounce along mowing. So instead of using my right hand to hold it in place and manually steer the beast with my left I need go ahead and fix it for good. How many friction disks are in there and what is the order of the pieces stacked on that control shaft? I want to have everything I need to fix it when I dig into it. Or is it possible to torque down the shaft nut and have it last a while longer? Feels like the disk is pretty smooth at this point so replacement may be the best fix anyway.

Any words of wisdom most appreciated.

Single cork friction disc.

Check to see if the adjustment nut on the end of the touch control lever can be removed easily.

If so, and the aluminum touch control handle plate can also be easily removed, you are good to go. Otherwise, you may need penetranting oil and heat.

Be advised, that the tapered spring on the shaft sometimes disintegrates upon removal due to rust. Not sure if this is still available from CNH.

Use anti-sieze upon reassembly.

Ditto what's been said, single disc and getting the aluminum hub off the stew shaft is the hard part, Ps.. It's keyed as well, use a couple screwdrivers to leverage it off evenly, penetrant helps, use heat if needed, but be aware aluminum pretty much looks the same till it suddenly slumps and hits the floor in a glob

Just a touch too much heat on the handle and you have a puddle!
