Ford 850 running sluggish

I changed the points in my 850 and used the feeler gauge that came with I to set points.. Tractor ran fine for couple of hours then seemed to run kind of sluggish. Re-checked the points they were good drained the bowl on the carb. but still acting like it doesn't have power. Haven't checked the plugs but did pull spark plug wires off and really did not hear a difference. Anything else to try? Change plugs?

Since the points were changed, I would look there first.
Especially if it did not have this problem before they were
changed.

Do you have good blue/white spark at all four plugs?
If not, clean the points with card stock or brown paper bag.
Check the gap yet again. .025 Look for anything that might be
laying too close to the metal case, like the condenser pig tail.

The feed through on the side of the distributor is also a fairly
common failure item. It can crack and cause intermittent issues.

Is there a way to replace the piece where the pig tail from condenser bolts to where the wire from the solenoid connect? It's not broke but has a pretty good twist in it. It looks like a thin piece of copper. Thanks

Someone posted recently about making a replacement for that part because his broke. There is no need to replace it however just because of a twist, as the electrons won't mind a twist a bit. You would be better off to put your effort into checking the plugs for spark as Royse suggested, but don't condemn them unless they fail to spark. You should also check fuel delivery. You stated that you drained the bowl on the carburetor, but I expect that you more likely drained the filter bowl. In order to check for adequate fuel delivery you need to shut the gas off, arrange for a safe container to catch it in, remove the drain at the bottom of the carb, then turn the gas on and let it run for twenty seconds. If it slows down during that time, you have a blockage at the tank or in the line or in one of the screens. If it runs strongly for twenty seconds you have eliminated most fuel supply problems
