Here is a pic of my external PTO brake. It consists of an old circular
saw blade (teeth cut off), a pair of vise grips, and disc brake pads
off a car. Its crude but it does the job. Consequently, it provides a
way to slowly and barely move the PTO shaft to help it line up with
a driveshaft. I did this because everyone said the tractor had to be
broken apart to replace the brake but recently I saw a post on here
indicating it can be done from the top of the transmission. Can
anyone posts how-to pics on how to replace the PTO brake without
breaking the tractor apart? I would love to get more info on that so
I can fix this thing right.
