5000 to 4000 rops question.

Hello everyone. I found a rops for a 5000 but want to put it on a 4000 3 cyl. Without huge modification can this be done? Is it the same distances on the uprights just bolt spacing differences? Available for 200 with all hardware so would love to make it work.

the 4000 will fit the 4600 and 4610 i'm pretty sure.

the 5000 rops fits the 5-7 series, usually up into the 10's

Soundguy is right.
I have a ROPS for my 4600 and another for my 7000...neither one on yet. I can measure them. I'm pretty sure they are the same as far as distance between uprights, but the mounting plate will be different - the 4000 (4600, 4610, etc.) used a smaller axle housing.

If you don't use/buy it, I have an uncle in Nevis who wants one for his 70000.

Just checked. Besides having the bolt holes 1/2" farther apart, the 5/7000 ROPS is also 1 1/4" wider.

And my uncle has a 7000, not a 70000.

The uprights are wider or the bolt holes are wider? Thanks for the help.

Both. The uprights are farther apart, and the bolt holes are wider, both front to back and side to side.

yup. i got a 4610 and a 5610 set of rops in the last few years for my 4600 and 5000. took me a few years of searching online auctions and craigslist to find them.

actually found a rops for a prior model that i ended uptrading for the 4610 set... wish i would have had both.

seems like they very seldomly come for sale here..
