RE: 640 Crankshaft Pulley Wheel Adaptor

The crankshaft pulley (#6312 in the parts catalog)
appears to be a single cast wheel, however, on
mine the wheel was attached by (4) 5/8 bolts and
went over the main crankshaft bolt/screw so simply
remove the bolts and off comes the wheel. No need
to remove main bolt and "pull" off.

I need to replace the wheel, but couldn"t find a
similar adaptor type that fits over the nut. The
ones I found are designed to be put under the main
bolt something I would prefer to avoid.

#6313 is the hub. #6312 is the pulley. Two separate items. A single pulley will probably be stamped steel,where as the double pulley(for power steering) will be cast. The pulley is bolted to the hub by 4 7/16 bolts. This assembly is held on the end of the crankshaft by a 5/8 bolt and washer. I believe this washer has to be removed to get the pulley off of the hub. This bolt was designed to except a starting crank on the older models.
 
The tractor has a single pulley, no power steering and yes the pulley is "stamped" material. Yes, the bolts are 7/16, the head is 5/8.

I was able to remove the pulley without removing the main crankshaft bolt, but haven't found a "stamped" pulley replacement part, only the "cast" one.

It is a late 1957 model.

Wayne, I am looking for a Crankshaft pulley for my 1955/6 Ford 640. Do you have one or know where I can get one? Thank you.
 

Ignore the drawings in the parts catalog. You're looking for pulley EAF6312D. Not a good picture, but it looks like this.

Yours will take a 1/2" belt. The NAA tractors used the same pulley but it has a "C" suffix and takes a 5/8" belt. Side by side they look like this.

I'd have to check, but I believe I have extras of both types.
