I bought a 841 Ford tractor worked great 3 point went up and
down . Now it will not go down at all . Even after you kill it it will
not go down I tried putting weight on it and still nothing. Is
there a bleeder screw some where ? What do I need to do?
Thanks

To get it down, you can remove the plug on the 3x5 hyd option cover, it will exhaust oil quick... Be ready. At that point, put plug in and run it up again for s & g's. Post back

What is s & g mean ? I will probly know when you tell me LOL. It will be Monday before I get a chance to work on it. Thanks

Well I got a chance to look at it today. If I take the plug out the 3 point will go down and it squirts oil out. I can run the3 point up and down no problem now except when I run the 3 point all the way up it sticks again. Then I have to take the plug back out again . It works unless I run the 3 point all the way up.

Check the rockshaft bushings for excess play. Could be the lift is "hanging up" somehow because the lift mechanism is catching on something due to excess play. I have a similar problem...my 841 lift works perfectly but hangs up on the upswing sometimes. I have decided there is too much play in the bushings and mean to pull that cover off and replace the bushings.

If removing the plug and therefore the fluid from lift cylinder lowers it, then it stands to reason that it isn't a mechanical lockup, but a hydraulic lock up. Likely a sticking control valve or linkage to valve adjustment problem.
