I'm in need of a little troubleshooting help.
My '72 ford 5000 has recently started dying 10 to 15 seconds after starting. Initially it starts strong and sounds great....then it peters out like it's starving for fuel. Once it dies, I can crank it for 10 or 15 seconds and it will catch again and go. This motor has about 200 hours on a complete rebuild and has run perfect all summer.
When starting the tractor, I almost always use the fuel button on the side of the injector pump when starting cold.
The injector pump was rebuilt by a reputable shop less than two years ago.
I have not replaced the filter yet, but will this weekend.
Any thoughts?
Dave
