A follow up on a question I posted recently about installing electronic ignition on my ford 3000 3 cyl. My thanks to you who replied with some good info.
I ordered the kit from this site and yesterday I tackled what I knew would be a challenge for an old fella with a bad case of the tremors.
As I mentioned before I thought the instructions were pretty broad but found a switched wire and proceeded to remove the points etc.
To make a long story short I reached the point where on completing the installation of kit I found the dust cover would not fit over the magnet'
I figured I must have the wrong kit so I proceeded to remove it and reinstall the points.
Feeling mighty perturbed I quit and called yt to complain, At customer service at YT the gentleman who took my call researched my problem and said that the dust cover is not used in this application'
It sure would have nice if that one sentence had been included in the instructions

That's one thing I don't understand. In this modern age. Why companies can't make good instructions for there products. All they need to do is take digtal photos while installing the product. And include the photos with the product.

Wasn't all that long ago we had none for a lot of things, especially safety/caution info. I guess we can thank the lawyers for that, no disrespect implied.

I find that the disparity between what we use for the English language and other languages is quite large. We have 5 words meaning basically the same thing and they might have one vague correlation that in our language could be 10 different things and all could have an impact on success or failure of the project.

I bought a full set of manuals for my Korean built Branson and they are primitive to say the least.

The same was true for the kit I bought for the 3600 Ford, dust cap would not fit. I didn't think to mention that in my post. Did you get it working?
