Back to this 4000 pressure relief valve

I have some time this afternoon to mess with this low hydraulic pressure problem.
I brought the PRV down with me from the Junk 3000 rear end I have up at the lake.
Messicks site lists two different part numbers for a 3000 and 4000 tractor
3000 = C7NNH869A
4000 = C7NN638EGV

A google search shows that the 3000 one (C7NNH869A) fits
The following:
"Relief valve, for hydraulic pump. For piston or
gear type in center housing. Tractors: 2000,
3000, 4000, 5000, 7000 (1965-1975)."
I just wonder if someone knows enough about these to have an opinion if this 3000 one will work in a 4000.

Bern,
I checked it both at idle and about 3/4 throttle.
Both readings were at 1700 psi.
So to verify that it wasn't the cheap gauge I bought I put the boom pole on it and tried lifting the trailer hitch on my pickup.
With a load way out on the boom pole these tractors should easily lift the front end off the ground - even at idle - but it would not.

I got interrupted today and never had a chance to remove the prv and inspect/change it.
Hoping to do that in a day or two.
