Hi guys I recently purchased what I thought may have been a 3000 ford at first, but now I'm pretty certain I have a 2110 lcg or 4110 lcg. Any guesses? Thank you

I worked at a Country Club when I was in college as their mechanic. We had Ford tractors, a 2000LCG SoS diesel, a 2110LCG and a 231LCG one Ford 3000 gas Ag tractor that someone hung 7 hydraulically driven reel mowers on and an industrial Diesel (can't remember the model number) that had the updated version of the 7 hydraulic reel mowers. Your tractor looks low enough to be a LCG and the sheet metal is consistent with the 2110/4110 tractors and you appear to have the right wheel tire combination. If it's got the 158 cubic inch engine it would be a 2110. if it's got a 201 CID engine it would be a 4110. The sheet metal and wheels should be a pale yellow. From what I could see and what had to be repaired the major external differences between the LCGs and the industrial/ag tractors was the spindles in the front. I had to go through the front end of the 2000 once (they're really to light for much of a loader but it was our loader tractor) and got a used support and axle from an Ag tractor to make the repairs. Of course the Wheel and tire combinations in the rear made it set lower and I was never sure if the gear ratios or final drive ratios were different on the LCGs.

Yes someone did repaint the wheels and sheet metal. Is there anywhere on the motor block it will say 158ci or 201ci? Thank you. I'm trying to get it running to mow with. Still unsure if it's a live pto or transmission pto.

When you turn the photo up right it looks like the model # is D1123C
D = 4000
11 = LCG
2 = Gas
3 = Live 540 pto
C = 8 speed

It may not be a 201 however.
More likely it is a 192 as they used 192s in the early 4000 gassers.
So it is basically a 3000 with a bigger engine and the ring and pinion was faster to compensate for the little rear tires.

Unit number is 9L19B, which means that it was assembled on November 19, 1969, so it should have left the factory with a 201 ci engine. They switched the 4000 gassers from the 192 to the 201 on 4/1/1968, at the same time that they switched the sheet metal style.

(quoted from post at 22:27:36 11/02/14) Don't these models use the planetary rear end?

Both the 4110 and the 2110 used the same rear axle as the regular 2000 & 3000 ag chassis models. They also used a radius rod front axle that was basically the same as the 2000 & 3000 ag chassis models as well, but with shorter spindle tubes and spindles.

Wow thanks a lot guys. That all sounds like good information. It is in fact an 8 speed. I was hoping it had live pto. This tractor is some what of a project, but it was so cool looking I had to have it. Plus I wanted a ford tractor. I actually didn't know there was an lcg model until after I got a service manual for a 3000 and it mentioned the lcgs also. Currently it doesn't run I just rebuilt the carb yesterday. And got spark at the distributor. So hopefully next weekend I can put some fresh gas in her and see if it fires.

(quoted from post at 22:59:30 11/03/14) Our '68 ag 4000 8 speed had a curved pto handle and it was independent pto.

All of the 4000 models with the true 4000 series double reduction rear axles had independent PTO, but the 4110 had the rear axle from the 2000/3000 series and would have had either live or trans PTO.

Think of the 4110 as a 2110 with a larger displacement engine with more horsepower, as that was the main difference between the two.

Well ill find out here when I get it running. I hope it runs well. It looks like the original hour meter stoped at 2 hours haha. The one screwed fast to the hood has about 680 hours I hope it only has 682 hours but who know

The 4110 is alive! Finally got a little
free time to work on it today.after a carb
rebuild, new points,condensor, plugs and
wires. It fired right up! Even though the
oil looks clean I don't trust it. What oil
should I run? How much? And what filter?
My IT service manual doesn't explain any
of that. Thanks for any info. The tractor
doesn't move yet unfortunately. Something
is wrong with the clutch. It's froze up.
Hopefully I can get it freed without doing
a split.
