Need chains. TSC of course is no help, although their online catalog shows that at some point in space and time that they do exist.

Need 13.6-28. Anyone have any suggestions?

Everyone geared up for Winter? We had a dusting of snow farther up north in good ol' Michigan and are supposed to see snow at the end of the week....

Be prepared for sticker shock if you're looking for new ones.
The D-Link or cross link chains are best if you have Ag tires.
Ladder style chains tend to fall in between the lugs on them.
Best deals I have found have been watching CraigsList.
Even if you find a set that is too big, they can be cut down.
Ionia County Michigan here. Snow predicted Friday here too.

Double ring if you have ag tires, for that size new, it was $400 delivered with the side tensioner for each from tirechain dot com.

I'd say they are worth it, I needed a set for years, could not find used and for the additional traction, well worth it.

As always, I'll say you can't beat "ice chains", but they ain't cheap!
I run them on pavement, with no damage to the pavement, as long as I don't sit there spinning the wheels!

I agree that ladder chains fall between the lugs, but they still press into the ice and snow and provide good traction. I have other chains for in the woods but I prefer the ladder chains on my driveway. They make the difference. If you want something more agressive go for it, but if a good set of ladder chains show up for a good cost, go for it.

June is a much better time to watch for tire chains.
I see them cheap then.
As said, you can buy them for larger tires and cut them shorter to fit.
Also, I wouldn't pass up any tire chains if they were cheap. Something is better than nothing.
I know a guy that runs two sets of cheap ladder chains on his tractor. More iron is better than less.

I got mine from TSC for a Jubilee. They were longer than needed. I didn't cut them back, just overlap them. Use a sharpie to mark where I need to connect them together. I think tirechain.com may have been cheaper, but I needed chains right away. I can't move snow without chains.

like said, tough time of year to find them cheap.
Watch CL, and all your local tractor selling places.
I've got a few sets by seeing a tractor for sale with chains, and
asking the seller to sell me the chains. "Cash, and I'll take em off right now"
Most sellers know they will get the same $ for the tractor with or without them, and as long as they don't have to do anything.....they usually say ok.

And like UltraDog said, even cheapos, put enough of em on there and they will match high dollar ones.
I have 3 sets on my snow mover NAA. 2 ladder style and a rings set.
With loaded tires, I think I could claw thru a steel plate if need be....heavy too :D

I have 2 sets of chains that i would sell. 1 set is ladder style BUT are large rings and dont fall easily between lugs. With typical wear. They fit 11.2x28 tires. The other set has cross links that make an "X". This set has very little wear, BUT i dont know what they fit. They are 21" wide and 110" long.
