Tw 5 fuel problem

Tractor ran fine until I changed the fuel filters. Now it runs fine until I go uphill, then it dies. If I go downhill or level no problem. This is crazy. I bled two of the injectors. Do I still have air in the system some where? Thanks for any help.

I bet that you have a minor leak in your fuel line somewhere and that when your front tank gets empty it will quit when on level ground. I had one that was doing essentially the same thing. It was apparently sucking air unless the front tank was pretty well full. I just went over the connections snugging them up and the problem went away.

Thanks a lot for the idea. I will go over the connections. That is interesting because the tractor does act like it is out of fuel when the first tank is empty. I just thought there was a problem with the second tank but I see it pulls all fuel from the lower tank. I did fill it full of fuel and it still had the same problem. Maybe there is a leak around the filter as there were no problems until I changed the filters.

I'm guessing a misplaced seal, since it worked fine before you changed the filters. Most likely it's sucking air on the water separator bowl. Recheck your seals carefully.

Just wanted to update on this. I ended up taking the lift pump apart and there was quite a bit of trash in it. I used the tractor to pick corn today and it worked well (even going uphill) thanks for all the ideas. I guess there was enough pressure until there was not enough gravity pressure.
