I bought a 641 workmaster that was hacked. The generator was removed and a car power steering pump was installed very poorly and bearly working. I need to put things straight, they were running off the battery and charging over night. The 641 has a heavy duty trip loader, thus the need for PS.
The question is can I put a pulley on a ford tractor gear driven power steering pump (2000-4000) to use on a 641 workmaster. I'm not going for parade restoration just a good working tractor.
I'm a disabled veteran with limited funds and am also cheap.
I should have elaborated, the power steering pump was installed where the generator is supposed to be. Nothing is where the ps pump was.
The air cleaner was removed for the PS hard lines.
I was looking at the Ford tractor shop Manuel and on page 283 the picture shows the PS pump that I believe was on the 641 but on page 288 they show a teardown of the sleeve type. That's why I thought the gear type was possibly interchangeable with a pulley. Which is 4-500$ cheaper.
