3610 engine in a 3000

I'm doing a little networking here.
One guy I know has an NOS Ford built 3610 diesel short block. Another guy has a 3000 diesel that the cylinder walls are badly scored and would need the whole shebang - sleeves, pistons, crank grind, etc.
Before I steer the two together I want to make sure the new engine will work.
Primarily, I need to know if the 3610 is a 175 so he wouldn't need a new pump and injectors.
Also, would the 3000 head fit on the 3610 block.
I think they changed head bolt diameter somewhere along in there.
Thanks for any advice that I can pass along to help a guy out.

3610 should be a 192, shouldn't need new pump or injectors but I would consider getting them checked out. Especially the injectors.

The head should fit, the bolt pattern should be the same. Some where around the time of the 10 series, early 80's they went to 9/16 head bolts, the parts book lists both 1/2" and 9/16" head bolts so I have no idea which on you're looking at, you will have to check it or have the person that has the engine check it.

If its a 9/16" block there might be issues with the head alignment dowls and the diameter of the bolt holes down through the head. These things would have to be checked.

Thanks Mike.
I emailed the seller and asked him to check the head bolt size. Also asked him about the dowel pins on the head.
Laying a 3000 head gasket on the block would easily tell.
The guy with the 3000 isn't mechanical at all but a nice chap so I'd like to help him out on this.
Anyone else with some advice?
