So my 941 d had one tire bad, leaked and had no tread, had a spare 13.6-28 that had been on my 740, checked it, had 10 psi, so swapped tires, used my old center, aired it to 12 to take out bulge, went to changing plugs in the 850 next to it, walked out of the shop and came back and the #%*-*%$ thing was flat! Tube went. Argh. Took me an hour to wrestle the old one off and the spare on and made no headway. Checked my box, sure enough, out of large tubes! Gonna wait till Fri to look at it again.. Aggravated. Right now. :).. I keep telling myself in gonna stop messing with tires one day...

I tried to replace the front tires on Jubilee 6x16 8 ply. I don't think you are a slow learner, but it only took me minutes to decide to take the tires to the Tire Barn.

Best $10/tire I ever spent.

Some days you are the windshield.

i thought i was ahead of the game having a tire holding air on a rim with no center. easy right? pop 6 center bolts out holding the rim, swap in the new tire / rim and be good.. then that tire holding 10 psi air decided to spontaniously go flat. ARGH! :)

guess i'll go hunt down a 28" tube and when it get scooler beat that tire off the rim...

one day. ;)

convieniently i have my 850 parked right beside the 941, since i was changing the plugs on it.

it has a full hyd superior loader, so that one should work.. or i an just back over the tires.. :)

I just bought a new firestone 12.4-24 for my combine rear. $416 + $50 for tire disposal, and $35 for mounting.

$501...

This past spring, had a front 26L-28 blow on the combine.

$2460...

The last combine I owned, I paid $800 for the whole machine with new drive tires.

I remember when the tire cost what the tube costs now!

In NC any tire over 20" disposal fee is a $1... You can take 4 and it may be 8 tires a year to the landfill FREE... If you live in the city limits (near the town I live around) put'em out by the curb the city will pick them up...I will say if you stuck me with a old tractor tire I would like to have $50 to get rid of it :D

Hobo,

can I dump tires at your place? haha

I can take them to the local dump for 1.8 cents per pound, but I have to chop them up, or cut them into flat slabs. There is a place in Ohio called Liberty Tire that will take them whole for a few bucks each, but, if you get caught in Ohio with 10 or more tires in your truck, it is considered hazardous waste and the fines are stupendous.
