The radiator shell on my '69 5000 is to far gone to save. The only ones I can find are for the later one piece grill type. I think the industrial one piece grills were the best looking anyway. Question; Not having much experience at the shows here in Florida, if I show up with the later i.e. wrong grill and we are there for just fun, how much grief do you think I will get?

There ya go.
yours, make it like you like.
Always a lot of this and that comments at shows.
Thank them politely for their knowledge, and let it pass.

good-natured ribbing, have fun right back.
"My family bought it new, always been like that"
(the fussbudgets will spend hours over their books at home to prove you wrong....snicker)
or with a modified tractor:
"This is the way they shoulda made it"

modern shows are a different world......growing up, telling some farm boy his tractor is 'wrong'...woulda been the same as saying his dog is ugly or his girlfriend is fat......better get my hands up...LOL

I would do it and not give it a second thought.
I take some pride in having a couple of the 'cobbeledest' tractors around.
When I go to shows and see row upon row of perfectly restored tractors I usually just keep on walking since if you've seen one you've seen them all.
It's the ones that are dirty, still working, not perfect or the owner has done some kinda clean mod to are the ones I will stop and admire and talk to the owner for a while.

Get a crane and slide a 4500 nose on there to really confuse the silly folks. Also darn near indestructible (though somebody tried hard on my gasser)
